Deutsche Grammophon presents its visionary initiative for recording and releasing orchestral concert performances - the DG Concerts series collaborates with some of the best orchestras around the globe, making their most acclaimed concert performances available to music lovers worldwide via digital download.
The first orchestras to participate in this series were the two US orchestras the New York Philharmonic, America’s first orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, an ensemble whose innovative programming has earned them international acclaim. In 2007 two renowned British orchestras joined the series - The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, whose concerts were taken from the PROMS 2007.
The series has also dedicated itself to chamber music by entering a cooperation with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York, which is known for creating one of the world’s most innovative chamber-music series.
DG’s main online partner in this initiative is the iTunes Music Store. Visit iTunes' The Global Concert Hall page in its US & Canada stores where all DG's releases in this series are displayed with direct links to buy each concert.
